These SIl Figures come from an across flock analysis of 57 flocks run in March 2009

Tresco 148 was purchased for $16500.   He is a ram with an exceptional fertility background: you can see that from his pedigree.  However as the photos above show, he has an open face, good colour and good fleece, he is a fairly big sheep with a good deep body.  In my experience, about half of his progeny are big and half more of a medium size (this is perhaps more of a reflection that in New Zealand the trend in the last 10 years or so is to have a smaller sheep, hence the way he has been mated may have tended to influence the size of his progeny).  As the pedigree indicates he has a footrot score of 1,1, which is the best you can have.

In the last 3 years at the Feilding Stud Fair, Tresco 148-03 has, between Richard Brown and myself, sired 22 sons that have sold at the fair for an average of $2430, an impressive feat in this day and age of selling Romney rams in New Zealand.   In addition to this I have kept 3 sons by him and Richard Brown has kept 3 sons by him.   I believe it is safe to say that he is a sire that has had a significant impact on both the Waidale and Banklea flocks.

Two Tresco 148-03 sons are top performers in the Romney NZ Saleable Meat Yield Trial ( North Island) 2008-2009 that has just been completed.
